A few months ago, we shared that our cells were demonstrating unprecedented longevity in our aggressive 3C/3C “torture tests.” We didn’t stop there, and the latest data requires us to move the goalposts once again.
Our Sodium Chromoxide NCO chemistry has now officially crossed the 10,000-cycle milestone. This data confirms that our NCO cells are now a clear competitor to Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) regarding lifetime performance—but with a 4x lower price tag.
The Latest Data: Defying Degradation
Our long-term aging tests on the NCO/ hard-carbon chemistry continue to exceed expectations:
- The 3C/3C Torture Test (3270 format): At 10,000 equivalent full cycles, capacity retention stands at an incredible 95.36%.
- 70 Ah Cells (0.5C / 2C): We are seeing 99.42% capacity retention at 1,196 cycles.
- 210 Ah Cells (0.5C / 0.5C): We are seeing 99.34% capacity retention at 1,397 cycles.
Looking Ahead: The 30,000-Cycle Extrapolation
When applying a straight-line extrapolation based on the latest available capacity-retention values from these ongoing tests, the mean NCO trend projects remarkable longevity. The data trajectory suggests these cells will maintain well over 85% capacity even when pushed to 30,000 equivalent full cycles.

The Bottom Line: By matching LTO-level cycle life at a significantly lower cost, we are fundamentally changing the Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS) and building true generational assets.
